Innovation plays a crucial role in driving progress within and around the European seed sector, driving advancements that are pivotal to addressing evolving challenges in agriculture and ensuring sustainable food production. Under the overarching theme ‘From Kernel to Code: Innovations in seed treatment, packaging, labelling & traceability’, the « Euroseeds2026 InnovAction Stage », will serve as a springboard to showcase the latest seed treatment technologies, sustainable packaging solutions, as well as labelling, traceability and digital innovations that strengthen transparency, efficiency and trust throughout the seed value chain.

In three words: Showcase. Connect. Grow.
Participating to the InnovAction Stage will give you the chance to:
- Meet and connect with more than 1,300 industry representatives, from the seed and plant breeding sectors, agri-food businesses and the farming community – your potential partners and costumers;
- Establish where there’s a viable market need for your innovation and evaluate the scale of its commercial potential;
- Gain a deep understanding of the political, regulatory and economic developments which will drive the sector in the coming year;
- Collaborate and share knowledge with a seed tech startup community
- Get visibility online and at the Euroseeds Congress;
- The possibility to be elected ‘Euroseeds2025 InnovActor’.
… and what does the winner get?
- A free registration to the Congress;
- A special video Interview with SeedWorld Europe, including coverage in the SeedWorld magazine and online,
- The title of “Euroseeds2025 InnovActor” for communication and marketing purposes.

Start-ups, SMEs, and public-private partnerships can compete for the Euroseeds2025 InnovActor title, showcasing their latest innovations. Selected companies will deliver 10-minute presentations on the InnovAction Stage, followed by a 15-minute interactive Q&A, maximizing visibility within the congress’s exhibition and trade area.
Step 1
Applications are open for submission as of 1 April 2025.
Applications are open until 30 May 2025.
Step 2
Companies will be selected by an independent panel of experts by 11 July 2025.
Selected companies will be informed about the time slots they will use to pitch their innovations and all congress information by 31 July 2025.
Step 3
Selected companies will present their innovations to a wide range of stakeholders between 26 and 27 October and compete for the title of Euroseeds 2025 InnovActor.
All selected companies will feature prominently on the Euroseeds2025 Congress website with their logos and information as of 01.08.2025 and have access to all relevant Congress information and the entire Congress venue and meetings.
The Euroseeds2025 InnovAction competition will exclusively focus on:
Seed Production
- seed harvesting
- seed quantity
- plant monitoring plant performance via drones/ satellite images
- plant growing via indoor farming, hygiene
Seed Quality Analysis
- germination tests through digital phenotyping/imaging
- seed vigor tests using imaging,X-ray, MRI,
- moisture tests
- genetic purity tests using molecular techniques e.g. molecular markers, sequencing
- seed health tests using molecular techniques e.g. molecular markers, HT sequencing
Seed Cleaning/Sorting
- seed phenotyping with AI – tools
- imaging e.g. X-ray/ algorithm development
- winnowing using self-learning and self-adjusting/optimizing machines
- threshing
- particle size sorting
- purity tests with automatic seed determination and AI tools as well as multi aspect measurements (seed count, perimeter, circularity, l/w ratio,…)
Drying Technology
- temperature humidity control by self-adjusting processes
- gentle and energy efficient drying to maintain high seed quality
Seed Storage innovations
- Start-ups
- Small and medium-sized enterprises
- Public-private partnerships
- Use case/application relevance for European plant breeding agriculture
- Proof of concept
- Test results available if possible
- Prototype available if possible
An independent jury will assess all presentations and select the winner of the competition and two runner-ups. These companies will be presented and feature prominently in a special closing event of the competition, ‘The Euroseeds2025 InnovActor Ceremony’.
